B. Highlighting Financial Practices Involving Unlawful Speculation
The Algerian legislator emphasized that financial speculation can take various illegal forms. According to Articles 21 to 25 of the cited legislation, the following activities are generally prohibited:
Spreading false or misleading news to disrupt the market and influence prices in an irregular and unjustified manner.
Artificially inflating market prices by offering goods at deliberately manipulated prices that exceed the legally defined profit margins.
Presenting deceptive price offers to mislead traders or other buyers into conducting irregular transactions.
Creating or participating in private agreements aimed at imposing artificial conditions in the market, contrary to the natural mechanisms of supply and demand.
Utilizing speculative practices to artificially increase or decrease the value of financial securities.
The ultimate aim of these prohibitions is to maintain market stability and prevent illicit manipulation of prices and securities.
