Assistant Professor Dr. Siham Hassan Jawad Publishes an Article in the International Direct Network Journal

Assistant Professor Dr. Siham Hassan Jawad, a faculty member in the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Arts, Samarra University, published an article titled "Something About the Concept of Soft Power" in the International Direct Network Journal, in its issue released on Saturday, December 28.

The article reviews the concept of "Soft Power," introduced by American academic Joseph Nye in 1992, explaining that it is the ability to achieve goals through attraction and persuasion rather than military force or financial power. The article emphasizes that cultural tools such as media, arts, and sports form a fundamental pillar of this power, which is used to influence others and shape their behavior.

On the other hand, the article points out that many developing countries often overlook the importance of soft power, making them vulnerable to external influence and loss of control over their resources. Dr. Siham called for greater awareness of this concept and its use as a means of positively influencing both internal and external affairs.

The article concludes by stressing that soft power has become a critical tool in the modern era, not only for major countries but also for anyone seeking to influence and achieve their interests through peaceful and attractive means.
