The Climber Faisal al-Qasim
It is said that every revolution has a climber, one who climbs like a spider on the blood and sacrifices of the revolutionaries to seize a victory they did not work for. If the Syrian revolution had a climber, it would be Faisal al-Qasim.
What has Faisal offered to the revolution? Has he been injured on the frontlines? Has he lost a son or a brother as a martyr? Has he contributed money? His weakness throughout decades, during which he hosted "Opposite Direction" (Al-Ittijah Al-Mu'akis), was the Syrian regime. He would attack Arab rulers with his tongue, but when it came to Assad, he stood like a rat, his mouth shut and his eyes darting, often embarrassed by guests, including a Mauritanian guest who pointed out that he couldn’t even mention Assad or the Syrian regime. He would then pretend to be deaf.
He is a coward. When the revolution erupted and it became clear that Assad’s grip was weakening, he began to speak cautiously!
Who is Faisal? He is a Druze pawn, and it is known that the Druze are "the [Israeli] agents." I won’t elaborate further.
As soon as the revolutionaries entered Damascus, he started posturing as if he were the right-hand of the law! He claimed he refused the Ministry of Information. May God have mercy on the naive!
He didn’t even have the courage of a knight. He placed photos of Hafez al-Assad and Bashar al-Assad in front of his house, and people would walk over them with their shoes. But did this harm Assad? True courage is stepping on the person himself, not just on his image!
When he confirmed that Assad's palace was empty, he sent a video from inside Bashar al-Assad’s bedroom, saying: "We have returned, O cockroach." Which cockroach are you referring to?!
The real courage would have been to storm his palace while he was there. That is true bravery.
