Play... Dialogue... Illegal Migration Across Borders

Scene 1: A room in a poor neighborhood.

(Ali and Salma are sitting together on the floor, trying to talk about their dreams and difficult situations.)

Ali:
(With a sad voice)
I can't live here anymore. Unemployment, poverty, no hope... I’m done, I have to leave this place. Maybe if I go to Europe, my life will change.

Salma:
(Nervously)
Me too! I mean, I don't have another choice. Every day I see young people running away abroad, and some people die trying to find a better life. But, is there really hope? Will the smugglers open a way for us?

Ali:
(With determination)
What better life! Our life here has nothing. I’ve tried everything, and there are still no opportunities. We have to take risks. What other options do we have?

Salma:
(Thinking for a moment)
But the journey is hard, the risks are huge, and sometimes the end is death. Are you ready to bear that?

Ali:
(With a sarcastic smile)
And if I die, at least I die trying to live, not sitting here, in this time, living slowly.

Salma:
(Sighing)
You're right. Let's plan, let's do it together.

Scene 2: With the smuggler "Salim" in an abandoned place.
(Ali and Salma are in a dark place, meeting Salim, a smuggler who deals with illegal migration.)

Salim:
(Looking at them cautiously)
Hello. Did you understand why you're here?

Ali:
(With determination)
We want to leave. We want to go to Europe. We will endure anything.

Salim:
(Laughing cynically)
You’ll endure anything? Oh, really. The journey is not as easy as you think. There’s danger, blackmail, and people carry their lives hoping for a better future, but the result is not guaranteed.

Salma:
(Nervously)
We know that. But we have to go.

Salim:
(Thinking)
I’m here to help you. But remember, this is not an easy path. Once you're on it, you can’t easily get off.

Scene 3: On the sea, during the journey.
(The events unfold as Ali and Salma face great suffering during the journey. The rough waves, the harsh weather, and the difficulty of moving make the journey even harder.)

Ali:
(Shouting due to the rough sea)
This is impossible! I can't take it anymore! Maybe this was a wrong decision.

Salma:
(Shaking her head sadly)
But we can't go back! We started this journey, we have to finish it.

Ali:
(Barely able to keep going due to exhaustion)
What got us into this situation? We used to see people on TV and imagine their perfect lives, but we only know suffering.

Scene 4: Meeting "Mustafa" in Europe.
(After Ali and Salma arrive in Europe, they meet Mustafa, a long-time migrant.)

Mustafa:
(Tired, speaking about his life)
I arrived here years ago, fleeing wars, poverty. I thought I’d find paradise. But I lived in the shadows, hidden, living an illegal life. Marriage, children, but no one knows me. I don't exist here.

Ali:
(Worried)
Do you regret it? Was migration the right decision?

Mustafa:
(Sadly)
No, nothing in my life here is better than back home. I have a family, but I can't return because I’m at risk of deportation. Do I regret it? Yes, many times. But did I have a choice? No.

Salma:
(With sorrow)
Was the dream worth all this hardship?

Mustafa:
(Deeply thinking)
The dream was big, but the reality was different. The dream is one thing, reality is another.

Scene 5: The end.
(Ali and Salma make their final decision, but they realize they’ve entered a world from which it’s hard to escape.)

Ali:
(In a calm voice)
What now? We’ve arrived, but is this the future we dreamed of?

Salma:
(In a weak voice)
Everything is strange here. The dream has become a nightmare.

Mustafa:
(In a heavy voice)
Each of us here has chosen their own path. But remember... there are no limits to your dreams, but there are limits to the law.

(The sound of the wind and noises approaching the boundaries of a new adventure are heard, but the hope for change remains.)

End of the play.

Last scene:
(Ali and Salma are in a far corner, feeling discouraged after facing many challenges in Europe. The weather is stormy, the lights are dim, and the city breathes silently as if it witnesses a tragedy.)

Ali:
(Looking at the sky, in a painful voice)
Everything was different from what we expected. We dreamed of a better life, but life here carries heavy burdens. I don’t know if I took the right path.

Salma:
(With great sadness)
At first, everything seemed possible. But over time, I felt like I was just a number here, just a face among thousands. I no longer feel like I exist; I feel like I’m disappearing in this city that doesn’t welcome us.

(A moment of silence, then Mustafa slowly appears, walking towards them.)

Mustafa:
(Looking at them with sadness)
I was once where you are. My dreams were big. But when I arrived here, I realized the journey doesn’t end once you arrive. The story changes, but the suffering of migrants remains the same.

Ali:
(Questioning)
Do you mean migration wasn’t the right choice?

Mustafa:
(Sighing)
Sometimes, running away doesn’t set you free. Migration may give you a new chance, but it doesn't guarantee inner peace. We’re chasing hope, but we might find ourselves in a situation even worse than where we came from.

Salma:
(In a weak voice)
So... what do we do now? Do we go back to what we left behind? Can we go back after everything we’ve been through?

Mustafa:
(Sadly)
No one can go back to the past. But we can choose how we live the present. We can decide if we’ll build a new life here or face the dream with courage and acknowledge that we might be in the wrong place.

(Suddenly, the sound of police cars approaching. The lights get closer as Ali, Salma, and Mustafa stop, their eyes full of concern.)

Ali:
(Quickly, holding Salma’s hand)
If we’re not here, what will happen to us?

Salma:
(Breathing heavily)
We won’t let them catch us! We’re here because we don’t want to go back! But is there anyone who will welcome us?

Mustafa:
(In a calm but firm voice)
The migration journey doesn’t mean that arrival is the end of everything. Life will remain full of challenges, no matter where we’re headed. But now, I know that I’m ready to face those challenges because I chose to be a part of this fight.

(The lights slowly fade, and Ali, Salma, and Mustafa remain in the dark, their footsteps heard as they move away, looking for another way, far from the police lights.)

The End.
